Well I think I can safely say that one of the hottest trends of 2015 across home, fashion and childrenswear has to be T.R.O.P.I.C.A.L. Palm prints, leafy motifs, pineapples and flamingos have all made an appearance (see previous post for Little Ones here) and especially across interiors products in one form or another adding a touch of the tropics to our homes. Team the vibrant green palm print hues with natural materials and textures such as driftwood and rattan for a sophisticated look. A peacock chair (view previous post on peacock chairs) completes the tropical trend and gives a retro aesthetic to the home. There are numerous mainstream retailers offering palm prints across a range of accessories and House of Hackney has one of the most comprehensive collections but who can resist the graphic print Cole and Son Palm Jungle wallpapers or the tropical leaf cushions at Not on the High St? I don’t think I am brave enough to go for these wallpapers on all four walls but the key to this look is to add small accessories and a hint of leafy print.

Summer is here and that can only mean one thing…. the Sales have started! I have to try and restrain myself when they first start (especially in the Zara sale) and not buy up everything just because there is a little discount. There are always some good bargains to be had right at the end.

Here are a few of my top sales picks with some real-life purchases across womens, girls and boys fashion with a dressing up outfit thrown in for fun.

Hot Metal

7th June 2015

With Dulux announcing Copper Blush as their colour of the year in 2015, there are numerous ways to adds metallic accents to the home which add warmth and a touch of luxury. Whether it’s impactful lighting from Tom Dixon or the beautiful craftsmanship of the Real Good chair from Heal’s, our love of copper sees no signs of abating. When it comes to paint, Copper Blush is a perfect take on the metallic trend, but adopting a chalkier, cooler finish than the metallic family. The colour really comes alive when combined with pink, clay toned neutrals, crisp white as well as beautiful Carrara marble (see separate post here) and shimmering metallics.
