Christmas: Gift Guide for Home Lovers

6th December 2016
Christmas gift idea

It’s here! The Christmas gift guide for the home. If you are anything like me, I love this time of year for all the quirky interiors gifts out there. I have already managed to snap up three of the pieces on the gift guide. Christmas shopping for yourself is just as fun!

Christmas Gift Guide

  1. Retro telephone from Aldi – £14.99
  2. Vintage floor lamp at Aldi – £39.99
  3. Marble cushion at Oliver Bonas – £26
  4. Seagrass basket at Oliver Bonas – £19
  5. Nib & Ink: The Art of Modern Calligraphy by Chiara Perano at Lamplighter London – £12
  6. Modern Calligraphy Set at Lamplighter London – £35

My father has been championing Aldi for years and the retailer has some superb gift ideas this Christmas! I was alerted to this stunning industrial lamp by mega influencer Erica Davies and have even snapped up the short lamp version too. I had to go out of London to track one down so get hold of it before it’s gone. Next up are Christmas gift ideas from Oliver Bonas including this gorgeous marble cushion and I couldn’t have a gift guide without a basket.

I have been absolutely loving the Nib & Ink Book from Lamplighter London. It’s all about modern calligraphy and there is something so relaxing about practicing this art form.  I just need to practice, practice, practice! If any of my family are reading this, I still don’t have the Modern Calligraphy Set also available from Lamplighter London. They even have neon ink too. Simply gorgeous. There you have it, my Christmas gift guide for home lovers. Get shopping!

Mother’s Day Gift Guide

4th March 2016

Leaving it pretty late for my Mother’s Day post but if you are reading this Hub, here is my Mother’s Day wishlist. I’ve done all the hard work searching for you, all you need to do is pick – one, two or three items, it’s up to you! Or Mums, why not treat yourself this year and save the disappointment!

Mother’s Day Gift Guide

  1. Selfish Mother Sweatshirt – Mama ‘Boyfriend’ Sweatshirt

With a £15 donation going to Help Refugees UK, (a grassroots organisation doing amazing work on the ground for people in the Calais ‘jungle’ refugee camp, and on the Greek island of Lesbos, where asylum seekers are arriving everyday on perilously overpacked boats), what’s not to love about this Selfish Mother sweatshirt? I like the ‘Mama’ alternative in an eye-popping Hibiscus/Gold. Sold out at John Lewis but alternatives available at Selfish Mother.

  2. Personalised Rose Gold Name Necklace

I have wanted one of these personalised name necklaces for yonks but have never got round to getting one myself. It has to be in rose gold. Nothing else will do! Of course, kids come first and I have recently bought one for my daughter’s 10th birthday. You can get them on etsy or Not on the High St which are awash with name necklaces galore but can vouch for this one here.

  3. Kikki K Stationery – Blush leather day planner

Move over Tiger & HEMA, I have found a new stationery love. Kikki K Stationery has arrived in the UK. Let’s face it, who doesn’t love a bit of new stationery and the Scandinavians get it right every time. Love this Blush Pink Personal Planner. What more do you need when stationery is this beauiful?

  4. Kikki K Stationery – Boxed Dual Pen Set

Simple things but I can never find a decent pen in this house. All I want for mothers day is this Dual Pen Set again from Kikki K.

  5. Bloom & Wild Flower subscription box

Subscription boxes have really taken off this year but would love to get one of these Bloom & Wild boxes as an ongoing subscription. The Lizzie works out at £18.50 per bouquet sent every 28 days on an ongoing basis.

  6. Zara Printed dress

I keep dreaming about this Zara printed dress. Have to stop myself as had a bit of a splurge recently on a number of midi dresses. Now just need somewhere to wear them!
