Christmas seems to have come even earlier for many this year. On the way back home tonight, I spotted four Christmas trees already up and in the windows and it’s not even December yet. What is going on?! This year as we will be away a week before Christmas, so it seems that we have to get our decorating done and dusted way before normal.
This year, I am not even thinking of a real tree as we will be here for so little time. A nice indoor light up tree does the trick just as well. This silver birch tree pictured above is from Cox & Cox and does the job nicely without having to worry about stray pine needles.
This year I am going for a Nordic, Scandi style look with a silver/white theme and very little colour but of course being me, a bit of bling with some sequins!
With less than a month to go till the big day, it’s time to get busy!

Purses at the ready! Monsoon has just launched a new homeware collection called HOME by Monsoon, which like its fashion, takes its inspiration from global destinations and sets the tone for modern, stylish living.
The Home by Monsoon Collection
The collection spans 80 pieces from cushions, bedding, textiles to furniture and accessories.
A quick glance at the images online and you will see Moroccan inspired sequin cushions, throws and accessories, pom pom cushions and throws, rugs, gifts, many with pops of colour and items created using artisanal embroidery techniques and on-trend tassels. All give a nod to Monsoon’s heritage and long relationship with artisans, keeping these ancient techniques alive today.
I will certainly be snapping up the sequin and pom pom cushions for sure, perfect for making a statement in the home.
Super nice and super affordable, what’s not to love?
Home by Monsoon now available online and in-store.
So for once this year I am turning my attention to the great outdoors. With an impending birthday party to plan in the garden, let’s hope the weather improves by July. Keeping fingers and toes crossed for this or am I just seriously deluded?!
First up is the seating, I have always loved the classic lines and shape of the stunning acapulco chair but this bistro chair from George is a purse friendly alternative. I wouldn’t normally go for lime green but for me the zingy hue just works alongside all the foiliage outside. Next up is the Indian Garden Company‘s Cream Pearl parasol. What’s not to love about this handcrafted beauty made in Bali by highly skilled artisans using bamboo and coconut wood. Set the table with some eye catching picnic and tableware in natural inspired materials like the woven basket from Habitat. Love the Palm and La Selva collection from John Lewis as well as the table textiles. For that extra hint of green foliage, add a block printed cushion pad from CMYK Living. The reverse print actually features tuk tuks but I love the natural look of this cushion which works just as well outdoors.
